At The Library Let's take a trip to the library A place with rows of books where we Can find a special section, A colorful collection, Of books for special people who are young at heart Just choose a few that you like best Take them to the check out desk Show your card and sign you name You'll be oh so glad you came The wondrous world of words is just about to start You can find out something about anything you like pick-up sticks, magic tricks, or how to fix your bike Riddles, jokes, and roller skates, Horses, dolls, and birthday cakes It's all there at the library You can read of sailing on a ship to distant shores Of prehistoric fossils and giant dinosaurs You can learn to draw cartoons Make a dog with long balloons It's all there at the library A puppet's nose grows longer whenever he tells lies Does anybody know?...Pinocchio! Hanging on a blue balloon, a small bear looks for honey Can you tell me who...Winnie the Pooh! A wise and gentle spider saves a friendly pig You know her name I bet...Charlotte! She lived deep in the forest with the seven dwarfs Can you get it right?...Snow White! No one helped her plant the wheat or bake a loaf of bread Can you guess again?...The Little Red Hen! Goldilocks came in their house and tasted all their porridge Then sat in their chairs...The Three Bears! You can find them all at the library! Teddy Took A Train Ride Teddy took a train ride packed in a box He was made in a factory far far away Clickity clack rollin' down the track To get to my party on my birthday But he wasn't mine yet, no, no, no He had miles of oceans and mountains to go, so Teddy took a plane ride packed in a box With a roar and a whoosh he was on his way Flying so high in the bright blue sky To get to my party on my birthday But he wasn't mine yet, no, no, no He had miles of highway and roads to go, so Teddy took a truck ride packed in a box Headin' for the store and the toy display Ridin' each mile with a peaceful smile To get to my party on my birthday But he wasn't mine yet, no, no, no He still had a little bit further to go, so Teddy took a car ride packed in a box He was bought by my grandma at the store one day 'Ridin' in back so brightly wrapped To get to my party on my birthday Happy birthday to me Happy birthday to me Happy birthday dear me My Teddy's come home to play Back to Titles 6. Tiger With A Toothbrush There's a tiger with a toothbrush standing next to me He has a brush like mine but it's three times a big I squeeze him extra paste because he likes the taste Then we brush our teeth together as we dance a jig Tiger shakes his stripes and swings his slender tail And bounces to the rhythm as he purrs and hums He pats his furry paws and taps his curving claws Then gives a happy "grrr" as he cleans his gums That rascal keeps me laughing, singing as we're cleaning, ho, ho, ho, ho I love to brush my teeth and gums Whenever my friend Tiger comes Tiger makes me giggle as he twists and turns his lips And shifts his chin to brush in every little place Front, back, top, side, everywhere the plaque hides He puffs his cheeks and brushes with a funny face When it's time to brush my teeth I skip up to the sink My parents stare in disbelief They don't know what to think They used to nudge and nag me, "Brush your teeth!" I hollered No! Now they can't believe how cheerfully I go That rascal keeps me laughing, singing as we're cleaning, ho, ho, ho, ho I love to brush my teeth and gums Whenever my friend Tiger comes When mom or dad peek in they never see my friend They think I'm all alone just playing make-believe 'Cause when adults are near, my tiger disappears But he comes back to brush when all the grown-ups leave Yes, he comes back to brush when all the grown-ups leave Back to Titles 7.
